The Resilience Program is flexible in nature and designed to develop the participants’ capacity to deal with problems – their resilience.
The length and structure of the program can be adapted to the schools’ requirements. Possible formats include a one-day program, a term-long program or an in depth, year-long program.
The Resilience Program focuses on many key issues that are all related to being resilient, including:
- Self Awareness – The capacity to recognise emotions and deal with them in a healthy way
- Self-Esteem – Thinking and feeling positively about oneself has an impact on our capacity to get back to who we were before we encountered the problems we face
- Decision Making – Both WHY and HOW we make decisions will make a difference in how resilient we are, meaning we need to learn to make positive choices
- Healthy Relationships – Being surrounded by healthy relationships (family, friendships and dating relationships) has a very strong impact on how we deal with problems a healthy way
- Positive Anger – We all get angry (it is an emotion) but this emotion more than any can sabotage our capacity to be resilient
- Responding to Problems – Rather than reacting to the problems we face out of the emotion we feel, we need the capacity to respond thoughtfully to the problem
Armed For Life welcomes the opportunity to work with students over a period of time, to develop their capacity to be resilient and in turn have a strong impact on their achievements at school.
Feedback on the resilience program includes the following:
“I just wanted to say how inspiring your speeches were. I just finished a 2-day retreat and I left so inspired. I learnt so much at your sessions. Your self-esteem, relationship and decision-making sessions were amazing. You guys are AMAZING at talking to audiences and really engaged with us. I went into this thinking that it was going to be so boring but came out amazed I’ve never listened and focused so much before. The people that spoke over the 2 days and told their story really touched my heart and was shocked. I’ve never heard a story like any of them before. It told me that you can change your life around no matter how hurt you may be. Thank you so much for coming and talking to us because you really helped me understand so much.”
Sarah (Year 10 Student)
“I just wanted to let you know that your talk to the Year 10’s last week on Resilience was exceptional. As a Head of Year, I’ve had many presenters come through and talk to various year groups and yours was one of the best. The students were engaged from start to finish and loved hearing the personal anecdotes. Their feedback has been nothing but positive.Alex Banyard (Head of Year 10)

“Adam delivered a session on resilience to a classroom size group of Year 10 students. With the aim to equip students with the tools they need to help them with their everyday life and mental health.
He communicates exceptionally with examples from his own life and with content that was engaging, interactive and relevant. Adam even had some of our toughest students fully engaged and interacting with his presentation.
If you are looking for someone who is engaging, impacting and passionate about equipping others, contact Adam and the Armed for Life team. You won’t be disappointed.”
