Sharon Tanner brings to Armed For Life over 23 years of experience holding senior management roles in London and Australia for FTSE 100, Fortune 500 and ASX-listed companies and over 5 years of experience and expertise through managerial roles across the family and domestic violence sector. She has worked in a variety of senior and volunteer roles in the community sector spanning both strategic development, operational service delivery, and mentoring.

Sharon has overseen capacity building in staff for up to 100 volunteers handling human resources in business operations; responsible for overseeing and developing networks and stakeholder engagement with a focus on child and family-centered practice, whilst advocating for vulnerable families to create an inclusive and culturally sensitive system response and practice for families and communities through the delivery of trauma and DV-informed training, programs and workshops to frontline workers managing over 60 events.

Sharon’s passions are building partnerships and collaborations with external and internal stakeholders resulting in improved outcomes for children, families and communities through education, training and advocacy.

Sharon thrives on educating, motivating, and influencing both internal/external stakeholders, providing solutions to align customer requirements with big-picture strategy by leveraging skills to impact business initiatives positively; demonstrates ability to lead office operations and administrate significant projects; applies vision and direction to properly utilise workflows, strategies, and persuasion to steer productivity; meets set expectations, maximises client relations, and communicates well with leadership; offers excellent process analysis and experience resolving problems. History of strengthening compliance; improving processes; and elevating output, quality, customer satisfaction and employee morale to all-time bests.

With a heart for advocacy and empowering those in the community, in addition to her role at Armed For Life, Sharon mentors women who have come out of women’s refuges with complex trauma to help them enter or re-enter the workforce and in a voluntary capacity, she visits elderly people to provide friendship and to fill a need in a community of isolated community members. This work compliments her passion for guiding people through trauma with a focus on mental illness recovery. She is also completing a Masters Practitioner of Holistic Empowerment Coaching and Counselling.
