Drugs and alcohol have always been an issue for teenagers that are looking for a way to medicate the pain that they may be feeling. It is not more of an issue than ever before. This session discusses why we use coping mechanics as teenagers, how they become addictions, and the danger of using drugs and alcohol not just now but for the rest of our lives. This session not only uses practical points on how to deal with drug and alcohol use but also strongly relies on lived experience to help teenagers engage with the information.

We allow the Mentee to choose where the mentoring takes place whether at their home, taking a walk or participating in an activity (like basketball) or in a café.
If a child or young adult is struggling with something, whether it be decisions or mental health issues, we work closely with the person to help them understand the healthy choices to make and guide them towards that choice. We encourage parent involvement as this is where we see the best results.
